Yay, it’s wedding film time! You’ll love this – Daisy and Dari’s wedding is gorgeous with lovely yellow accents and a bit of a daisy theme… genius! Watching Daisy and Dari say their vows brought a little tear to my eye this morning. You have to see this – and you’ll be imagining yourself in Daisy’s shoes by the end of the film! Best bits for me – Daisy’s beautiful sparkly headband, the bridesmaids in yellow, a trip past Lovers Lane on the way from church to reception, and the soft yellow daisy cake

It was Julie, Daisy’s Mum, who first got in touch with us at Newlywed Films from a recommendation from the superb photographer Luke Woodford (http://www.lukewoodford.com) who we had worked with before. It sounded amazing and both Luke and I were on board in no time.
Daisy runs two boutiques Blush in Battle, East Sussex and Bunny and Belle in Lewes, so as well as being very busy in the lead up to the wedding, it was also apparent it would be very stylish.
Daisy wore a dress from Pronovias (http://www.pronovias.co.uk) and got ready at where the reception was being held with her Mum and bridesmaid whilst Dari was at the Star and Eagle pub soaking up the nerves with a pint with family and friends.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Goudhurst, Kent (http://www.gkchurch.org.uk). Honestly one of the best churches I’ve had the pleasure to film in. The vicar Hugh was a pretty ‘down with the kids’ sort of vicar too.
After the ceremony and some confetti, everyone jumped on a double decker bus and headed for the venue which was at Upper Lawn in Cranbrook in Kent for champagne and photos. On arriving for dinner, everyone was poured a tequila shot which everyone did the traditional ‘salt, then shot, then lemon’ as a congratulatory toast to the couple. I don’t think anyone got the maggot though luckily?
The speeches were before dinner and they were definitely one of the funniest I’ve ever heard, the whole place was in hysterics.
From my own experience of doing a speech at my own wedding, I would definitely recommend doing the speeches before dinner as you can look forward to the food afterwards, rather than being so nervous that you can’t eat a thing in the lead up to doing them. I did it the hard way!
After dinner it was on to the traditional cutting of the cake, a custom daisy cake I might add, and then some dancing, along with a hog roast outside and a photo booth.
As Dari is from Manchester, the whole placed erupted when the couple were dancing to ‘She’s Electric’ by Oasis, which is the last shot in this highlight video. I hope you enjoy watching it!
